Registered Practitioner Certification

Criteria for Certification as a Registered Practitioner
The APM Group Ltd will award Certification as a Registered Practitioner to candidates who:

  • Have successfully achieved sufficient marks to pass the Foundation Examination.
  • Have successfully achieved sufficient marks to pass the Practitioner Examination.
  • Agree to The APM Group Ltd terms of certification including surveillance monitoring.

Terms of Certificatation

Surveillance Monitoring
At a minimum of three, maximum of five, years after initial certification, Registered Practitioners are required to sit and pass the Re-Registration Examination in order to retain certification. The Re-registration Examination is to a similar standard as the Practitioner Examination but is shorter, and is available electronically and in paper format. The pass mark for the Re-registration examination is 25 marks out of 50.

Withdrawal of Certification
Failure to pass the Re-registration Examination after 5 years as a Registered Practitioner will result in withdrawal of certification.

Appeals: If the examinations are taken through an ATO
Extenuating circumstances during the examination, e.g. unacceptable noise outside the examination room can, if supported by the invigilator concerned, be cited as grounds for appeal against an adverse examination result.

In the absence of extenuating circumstances, an appeal against an examination result will only be considered if supported by the ATO who provided training in advance of the examination. The decision of the Examination Appeals Panel is final.

In the absence of extenuating circumstances, an appeal against an examination result will only be considered if supported by The APM Group Ltd. 
The decision of the Examination Appeals Panel is final.

Complaints
The APM Group Ltd requires all Registered Practitioners to keep a record of complaints made against them within the scope of their certificate of competence. Such complaints are to be notified to The APM Group Ltd. The record of complaints will be subject to audit at the time of Re-registration Examination. Such complaints about a Registered Practitioner if received by The APM Group Ltd in the absence of notification by the Registered Practitioner concerned may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.
